How SubmitCue works
SubmitCue is research decision support for ideas, proposals, papers, and manuscripts. It maps the relevant literature, finds the nearest contribution analogs, surfaces overlap and missing evidence, and recommends what to pursue or change. Every important finding links back to evidence you can inspect.
Google Scholar helps you find papers. A general chatbot generates an answer from the context it receives. SubmitCue evaluates your proposed contribution against nearby research, research-community expectations, and public reviewer evidence where available. It maintains the project over time and shows exactly what supports its conclusions.
No. SubmitCue handles the searching, comparison, and pressure-testing. You confirm the intended contribution and research community, inspect the evidence, correct irrelevant sources, and decide what to pursue. It is designed to expand your judgment, not quietly replace it.
Evidence and reliability
SubmitCue uses OpenAlex as its primary research index and verified public OpenReview reviews for supported venues. You can also bring selected sources from Zotero, Mendeley, or your own manuscript. Where the available evidence is thin, the analysis says so rather than filling the gap silently.
Your own manuscript is read to build the analysis, and the workspace runs then work from the contribution fingerprint you confirm rather than resending your full text. For the published work SubmitCue compares against, it uses the bibliographic metadata and abstracts OpenAlex makes available, plus verified public OpenReview reviews for supported venues. It does not bypass paywalls, and where that evidence is thin the analysis says so. Our Privacy Policy sets out exactly what is sent where.
SubmitCue prioritizes direct relevance to your contribution: similarity of the problem, context, method, evidence, and claimed advance. It also considers recency, research-community fit, citation relationships, and public review history where available. Citation counts are supporting context, not a substitute for relevance or research quality.
SubmitCue queries current research sources when an analysis runs and timestamps the resulting snapshot. Because the literature changes, completed assessments remain immutable so you can see exactly what evidence informed them. You can run a new assessment later to incorporate newly indexed research.
SubmitCue is not producing one immediate response to a prompt. It retrieves relevant research, identifies close analogs, compares the proposed contribution, examines available review evidence, validates its sources, and assembles an actionable assessment. That takes longer than generating a chat response, but it also produces something you can inspect and challenge.
Privacy and academic integrity
Your projects are private by default. SubmitCue does not publish, sell, or use your research ideas to train its own models. Original uploads are processed transiently and are not retained by default; private normalized text is stored so you can continue the project. Only the information required for analysis is sent to configured AI providers under the practices described in our Privacy Policy.
SubmitCue is designed to analyze and strengthen research, not copy existing work or disguise AI-generated writing. Recommendations are connected to their supporting sources, and any suggested revision remains under your control. You are responsible for citations and compliance with your institution, journal, or conference policies.
Access and integrations
Yes. SubmitCue is designed to connect with Zotero and Mendeley for sources; Microsoft Word, Overleaf, and Google Docs for drafts; and Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, OpenClaw, or Hermes through MCP and API. Your agent can be the interface while SubmitCue provides the specialized literature and contribution analysis.
SubmitCue is in private beta: join the waitlist and access opens in small groups. Purchases are unavailable during the private beta; approved beta users receive starter credits for their first analyses. If an analysis fails, its credits are not spent.

You can evaluate a research question, paper idea, thesis proposal, dissertation chapter, grant direction, abstract, working paper, or submission draft. The analysis is strongest when you identify the research community you want the contribution to matter to.
Yes. Its literature analysis is designed to work across fields represented in OpenAlex. However, the depth of venue-specific reviewer calibration depends on whether public review and decision data exist. SubmitCue clearly labels an assessment as either literature-based or venue-calibrated.
SubmitCue may discover sources in multiple languages when their metadata is available, but full contribution analysis is initially optimized for English research text.
SubmitCue uses carefully selected AI models for tasks such as query planning, comparison, structured analysis, and recommendation synthesis. Specific models may change as their quality, cost, and privacy characteristics improve. The model is never treated as the evidence; the papers and review records supporting each finding are.
